In a double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial, Patients were randomly assigned to two groups: 130 received a drug containing Californian poppy and 134 a placebo (two tablets twice daily for 3 months). It was recorded safe and more effective than placebo in treating mild-to-moderate anxiety disorders.

success and validates its traditional sedative properties confirmed by the sleeping induction at doses above 100 mg/kg in mice.
